Portuguese government to support SMEs
The Portuguese government has announced new measures to support access to finance for the countrys ailing SME base. The initial credit line made available to businesses is 750 million, but this figure could reach 2 billion by the end of 2010, the Institute of Support to the Small and Medium Enterprises (IAPMEI) said

Italy’s Ubi Leasing increases market share

CHP Consulting joins German leasing association
Lease software provider CHP Consulting has joined Germanys leasing association BDL as a new cooperation and information partner. The company said that the move is in line with its plans to expand to the German leasing market, promote its flagship solution ALFA v5, and support its existing clients in the country. CHP Consultings sales and marketing director Andrew Denton said that ALFA v5 is well placed for German leasing companies, because it can support the complex requirements of leasing markets such as Germany that have a strong regulatory control and because of its multi-GAAP capabilities.
WCG wins major deals in Austria
White Clarke Europe (WCG) has won a partnership with two of the countrys largest leasing companies, the software house has said. WCG which opened a new office in Vienna last year – said that these latest agreements with two of the top four leasing companies in Austria are worth some millions euro over the next two years.
French leasing: “unprecedented” contraction in 2009
Leasing among French businesses fell 23.5 percent last year, which Frances leasing association Association Franaise des Socits Financires (ASF) described as an unprecedented drop in the local market, worse than the 19.6 percent recorded in 1993.

Portuguese leasing falls 30 percent in H1 2009
Portuguals leasing and renting industry had a 30 percent drop in the first six months of 2009, according to the countrys leasing association ALF. The association said that the aggregate production reached 2.3 billion in the period, and was almost 4.8 billion for the whole year.
Germany’s VR Factorem sees customer increase
The factoring business, a joint venture between VR Leasing (which owns 74.9 percent of the company) and Frances Natixis Factor (which owns the remaining 25.1 percent), said the number of customers rose by 15.5 percent.
