One in two Italian firms to request payment holiday scheme

Following the launch of a moratorium on loans and leases for SMEs with good credit history earlier this year, Italian employers federation Confindustria has conducted a survey amongst 2,000 small and medium-sized enterprises to find out how many of its members were likely to request the payment deferral. Almost 35 percent of respondents (mostly SMEs with less than 50 employees) said they have already requested the payment holiday, while 13 percent are likely to do so in the near future.

PCFG: “we can look forward to 2010 with confidence”

Private & Commercial Finance Group (PCFG) made a pre-tax profit of £121,474 (135,600) in the six months ended September 30 2009, the Aim-listed SME lessor announced in its latest results.

BES Leasing’s Portuguese parent invests in Algerian lessor

Portuguese bank Banco Espirito Santo has teamed up with the Bank of Algeria and Swicorp, an investment fund, to set up a leasing company in Algeria. The leasing company, IJAR Leasing Algrie, will be initially capitalised with DZD3.5 billion (33 million), of which Banco Espirito Santo, the parent of Portuguese lessor BES Leasing, will contribute 35 percent; the Bank of Algeria, 59 percent; and Swicorp, 6 percent.
