Alfa, a provider of SaaS solutions for equipment and auto finance, has unveiled its latest approach to data resilience and continuous business operations through a feature called Data Guardian.
Part of Alfa Cloud, the platform that delivers Alfa Systems as a service on AWS, Data Guardian combines isolated networking with multi-region and multi-provider backups. According to Alfa, the feature represents a “best-in-class approach” to single-tenant SaaS resilience, meeting both current and emerging data legislation.

Data Guardian provides what Alfa describes as a “triple shield” for data protection: nightly backups are stored in a dedicated vault in the primary region, replicated to a secondary region for geo-redundancy, and mirrored to an entirely separate cloud platform to mitigate catastrophic cloud-specific events.
Alex Barnes, Alfa’s Director of Cloud Hosting, said the solution goes beyond standard disaster recovery. He noted that while competitors often rely on shared responsibility models, Alfa’s service ensures “ultimate peace of mind” and significant cost savings. “Data Guardian isn’t just about ‘backup’; it’s about eliminating downtime and ensuring data availability, in even the most extreme scenarios,” he added.
For auto and equipment finance operators, downtime can mean lost deals and frustrated customers. Data Guardian is designed to deliver minimal recovery time and point objectives, enabling quick restoration of critical operations.
Existing Alfa Cloud customers are already seeing the benefits. Matthew Colville-Foley, Head of Change Delivery at Novuna Business Finance, said that since migrating, “data security and access control are standout features, giving us complete confidence in the integrity and confidentiality of our information.” He added that Alfa’s governance model aligns closely with FCA requirements.
