Lombard Vehicle Management has signed two substantial CV fleet
lease contracts in the last month, with one existing client seeing
greatly increased fuel efficiency as a result, and one new customer
approaching fleet leasing for the first time.

The first deal, for the lease of 30 Peugeot Bipper vans, was
signed with Plymouth-based car parts delivery company Kevin Cooper
Motor Factors.

Kevin Cooper had previously leased a Ford fleet from Lombard,
but decided to switch to the Bippers in order to reduce costs. The
effect has been pronounced, with fuel bills reduced by an alleged
40 percent, and fuel efficiency said to have improved from 30-35mpg
to 50-55mpg.

The fleet has been leased in two batches of roughly equal size,
with average repayments of £200 per vehicle per month, spread out
over a three year Contract Hire agreement. The vans were supplied
by local Peugeot dealer Renwicks of Plymouth.

Regional sales manager Chris Davies, who developed the
deal on the Lombard side, said that Kevin Cooper’s move to the
Peugeot vans after consultation on their previous lease provided an
example of Lombard Vehicle Management’s ability to offer fleet
management advice as well as straightforward leasing.

Lombard Vehicle Management has also written a 30 van contract
hire deal with Churches Ltd, an electrical and heating engineering
company based in Winchester.

Churches had historically acquired vans by outright purchase,
although began to feel the need to lease as its fleet grew in
size.Lombard approached the business with a proposal to transfer
the company fleet of VW Crafter and Transporter Vans onto contract
hire.

“This meant that not only could we effectively manage the fleet
for the company, but also take the residual risk on its behalf,”
said Davies.
