The Estonian leasing arm of Nordea bank has announced that its
portfolio rose to almost EEK39 billion (€2.5 billion) at year-end
2008 – this represents an increase of 32 percent year-on-year.
In neighbouring Latvia, the Latvian leasing arm of Swedbank,
Swedbank Lizings, said the value of its leasing and factoring
portfolio amounted to LVL 707 million (€1 billion) at year-end
2008.

Separately, Latvia’s largest lessor SEB Lizing said that its
portfolio totalled LVL 3.8 billion (€5.4 billion) in 2008, 88
percent of which accounted for leasing and 12 percent for factoring
deals. Net profit at the lessor was LVL 6.1 million (€8.7
million).
