service-oriented architecture (SOA) in a move aimed at reducing
costs and improving operations.
designed jointly by Oracle and Südleasing, went live in 2008.
According to the company, the implementation of the system has
resulted in “increased efficiency” and a “higher quality service”,

The new solution is a multi-tier application, comprising an
Oracle database for storage, an Oracle application server as
runtime system, a software language called BPEL, web services as
business process layer, and a web browser for front-end users.
According to a company’s spokesperson, the adoption of e-Lease
would help save money by centralising input-output management,
using a single web application to combine documents and legacy
system information, replacing paper archives with electronic
archives, and building SOA architecture with reusable services.
The new application is part of Südleasing’s Fit4Future, a
strategy aimed at increasing market penetration and providing
competitive advantages, which according to the company’s CEO,
Reiner Heine, can only be reached through competent employees and
an optimal IT supporting application.
