Porsche Mobility Co., the Romanian
leasing arm of Porsche Bank Group, has won a tender to supply the
Romanian Post (CNPR) with 727 vehicles.

According to Mihai Cristian Buciu, chief operating officer of
the state company CNPR, the four-year operating lease will be
signed by the end of November, with deliveries beginning at the end
of January 2009.

The total value of the contract is currently being negotiated,
although Buciu confirmed that Porsche’s bid was below CNPR’s €25
million call for tender.

“Porsche Mobility came to us with a total contract value of €20
million, but we are still trying to negotiate the price as well as
the delivery deadlines,” said Buciu.

The Romanian Post has not renewed its fleet since 1992, and with
some vehicles having been in service since 1989, this has resulted
in high maintenance and servicing costs.
