2008, according to the leasing and factoring committee of the
Latvian Commercial Banks Association (LCBA).
This figure shows an increase of 8.9 percent from the end of the
previous year, and breaks up into a 4.7 percent increase in total
leasing portfolio (to €2.6 billion), and a 49.3 percent increase in
total factoring portfolio ( to €391.3 million).

Total new business volume for leasing in Latvia was €900
million, showing an increase of 34.7 percent year-on-year. Swedbank
Lizings (formerly Hansa) claimed 38 percent of the market, with SEB
Lizings and DnB Nord Lizings following with 19.9 percent and 12.5
percent of the market respectively.
