Construction and industry are dominating the equipment leasing
market in Romania, according to data compiled by ALB, the
association for Romanian non-banking leasing companies.
These sectors have attracted 92 percent (56 percent and 36
percent respectively) of all funds granted by ALB members in 2008’s
first half, a share increase of 11 percent year-on-year.

The total value of equipment leasing amongst ALB members during
H1 amounted to €647.4m, a 36 percent increase on the total for
2007’s first half.
This growth, however, shows a deceleration compared to
performance during the first six months of 2007, during which the
equipment leasing market grew by 61 percent.
