The focus of their criticism is reportedly on the company’s
handling of its derivatives exposure crisis.
The complainants, which are said to number in excess of 900, have
been asked by Banca Italease to present their cases to a recently
established Italian association for resolving banking disputes.
This organisation will appoint an independent mediator to handle
the claims.

According to the Italian news supplier, Il sole 24 Ore,
resolving the complaints in this way will be quicker and cheaper
than if they had been taken to a civil court. However, any ruling
will not be binding, and it is expected some investors may still
want to take legal action.
