Daimler Financial Services has expanded its insurance business
by providing underwriting lines in South Korea.
This comes amidst plans in 2008 to expand globally its insurance
provision, a process it started last year when it launched these
services in Croatia, Switzerland, Sweden and Poland (see Leasing
Life December issue, page 33).

The company launched a motor finance insurance product last
month, but has since widened it to cover leasing, according to a
report in the German newspaper Boersen-Zeitung.
Meanwhile, in Europe, the company is on a push to expand its van
and truck contract hire business and plans to harmonise its
commercial vehicle products across all its European
operations.
