While its parent GE Equipment Solutions undergoes a
restructuring that is likely to result in job losses, its
subsidiary TIP Trailer Services is on a hiring spree.

Last month it made three new staff appointments, including Bob
Forde who has joined as FleetCare contract manager for TIP Trailer
Services Europe with responsibility for managing the trailer
lessors’s P&O Ferrymasters account.
In recent months P&O Ferrymasters, a freight management
company, appointed TIP Trailer Services to maintain its fleet of
1,500 trailers in a six-year contract. The deal covers the
maintenance and repairs of the fleet including tyre management.
Forde originally joined TIP in 1999 as operations assistant and was
later promoted to area operations manager for the South East of the
UK, based in Felixstowe.
TIP’s other new recruits include Chris Bull, who has joined as
area sales manager for Bristol and the South West region having
previously worked for HireCo in its operations department.
Also, Rob Yaxley, previously branch manager for the past six
years for Transamerica Leasing, has been appointed a branch
manager. He has over 14 years experience within trailer rental and
leasing having originally started his career with TIP and CTR.
