In partnership with IBM Global Financing, IT distributor CCD has
launched a finance and marketing initative aiming to provide end
users with a ‘Free IT’ programme on virtualisation projects, which
enable businesses to run sofware from remote servers rather than
directly on individual computers.

CCD, part of Computacenter UK, claims that virtualisation can
typically deliver ROI within 12 months of implementation. Because
IBM Global Financing has agreed to offer a 12-month payment holiday
to CCD’s customers, the first payment will typically be made after
ROI is achieved.

The finance package will cover server and storage hardware from
IBM, plus virtualisation software from other third parties.

CCD IBM sales manager Michael Cox told CRN, the UK
reseller weekly, that the initiative would help to boost resellers’
sales.

“This is perfect for today’s environment. It fixes an issue in
the marketplace for end users with budgetary constraints and power
issues, and it generates pipeline for IBM partners,” he said.
