Lombard Ireland is owed a
“significant sum” by collapsed Irish construction firm D&M
Utilities & Civil Engineering, which went into liquidation
after a creditor’s meeting at the start of March.
The Ballinakill-based company owes €300,000 to
the Irish Revenue, as well as to Lombard Ireland and Bank of
Ireland, after the alleged disappearance of a number of assets.

Last August, Lombard Ireland sought to be
awarded €308,452 against D&M and its two directors, Maura
O’Donnell and Daniel O’Connell, as a result of eight leasing
contracts, one of which was for the finance of a crane.
Jim Stafford, the appointed liquidator from
insolvency practice Friel Stafford, has said he will investigate
the location of the missing assets as part of the liquidation
process.
