North East Derbyshire District Council has received 72 new
Citroën light commercial vehicles through local authority fleet
specialist TransLinc. The vehicles have been provided on a five
year, maintenance-inclusive contract hire agreement.

The decision to replace the existing fleet came from a review
undertaken by the council and housing management provider Rykneld
Homes, which will use the vehicles to provide maintenance and
repairs to over 8,000 tenants in the region.

The new fleet includes four Citroën Relay heavy vans, 16 Citroën
Dispatch vans, 46 Citroën Berlingo vans and six Citroën Nemo vans.
They were chosen in the aftermath of a “ride and drive” event, in
which Rykneld held trials of vehicles from various manufacturers
for its end users.

The vehicles will be delivered in incremental batches over the
next six weeks.
