UK lessor Advanced Vehicle Leasing has seen demand for cars rise
during the first months of the year, while demand for vans has
decreased.

The Tees Valley-based company, which provides vehicle contract
hire and leasing to businesses across the UK, said that in Q1 2009
its market share increased by 10 percent, but with a clear shift in
favour of its car business.

Traditionally, half of the assets leased were cars and the other
half were vans, whereas now cars account for almost 70 percent of
the company’s business.

The company, which was created in 1997, has formed partnerships
with several vehicle funders including Network Vehicles Limited,
Arval, Lombard and Lex Vehicle Partners.
