For the rolling year, trucks were down by over 22 percent to
45,244 units.

Vans dropped by 40 percent for the month and by 37 percent for
the rolling year to 212,565 units.

SMMT chief executive Paul Everitt commented: “We expect van
registrations will stabilise at the end of the next quarter, but at
the lowest levels since the early 1990s”.

“The commercial vehicle market continues to reflect the very
difficult conditions facing business buyers, particularly those in
the freight transport and construction sectors,” he added.
