“Many competitors leaving the market has created an opportunity
for expansion, and 3 Step IT has used this opportunity,” he
said.

“During financially difficult times, companies and the general
government sector want to enhance the efficiency of their finance
management, which increases the demand for management
services.”

This latest expansion brings 3 Step IT’s European network to ten
countries. The French business will be led by Mikko Laukas, who
will also be co-owner of the company.

“We are convinced of 3 Step IT’s good, competitive position in
the French market,” said Laukas. “Our aim is to become one of the
leading management service companies in France and to gain a
significant market share within five years.”

3 Step IT, an ICT management services provider, has managed to
buck the recessionary trend, growing its turnover by 19 percent in
the first half of the year, to €121.4 million.

Growth and profitability was particularly strong in the Finnish,
Scandinavian and UK markets, according to Aurasmaa, although
development in the Baltic business unit was weaker to the region’s
“challenging financial situation”.

Operating profit also increased by two percent in the six months
to June, to €3.5 million.
