Poland’s leasing volumes dropped 38 percent in the first half of
the year, according to statistics published by the country’s
leasing association.

Total new business dropped from PLN 17.87 billion (€2.67
billion) to PLN 10.24 billion, the association said.

Within the vehicle sector, which in total fell 48 percent to PLN
5.22 billion, trailers and tractors reported the highest drop,
declining by 66 and 70 percent respectively.

The machinery and industrial equipment recorded a 26 percent
drop to PLN 3.58 billion.

Europejski Fundusz Leasingowy, owned by Crédit Agricole, was the
largest company by new business volumes in the period, with
PLN 1.32 billion.

It was followed by BRE Leasing with PLN 1.12 billion, and Pekao
Leasing with PLN 739 million.
