Derek Soper has added a new role to his long list of jobs within
the asset finance industry.
The chairman of leasing consultancy
International Advisory Associates (IAA), who has over four decades
of leasing experience, has joined Grant Thornton this week as a
non-executive director.

In his new role, he will be advising the
accountancy firm’s leasing and consumer finance team.
Grant Thornton’s head of leasing and advisory
services Tarun Mistry commented: “I am very pleased to have such a
well-known and respected individual from the industry joining our
team.
“I think Derek has got a lot to add to the
development of our team, and I am looking very much forward to
working with him,” he said.
Having retired from full-time employment in
1997, Soper went on to launch Alta Europe at which he became
principal and then chairman.
Last summer, he relaunched another leasing
consultancy, International Advisory Associates (IAA). He is due to
announce the names of the IAA’s directors in the next few
weeks.
