The new office, to be managed by Colin Bole, a
former executive vice-president of Macquarie AirFinance, will focus
on growing business in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. It is set
to open by the summer.
ILFC has placed no new orders for new
passenger jets since 2007, following the economic crisis,
which left its parent company American International Group
requiring a bail-out from the US government.
Henri Courpron took over as chief executive at
ILFC in May, succeeding founder and former CEO Steven Udvar-Hazy,
who left in February 2010 to start rival company Air Lease
Corp.
