Shire Leasing will provide the finance for the
deals written under the scheme which BT said is designed to help
small businesses raise funds in a challenging economic climate and
to avoid having to rely on bank loans, overdrafts or credit
cards.

A spokesperson for BT said the company had an
existing business relationship with Shire Leasing and said it made
sense to offer a dedicated leasing service to small business
customers in conjunction with Shire.

Start-up companies will be able to lease a
range of technology and communications products and services
including telephone systems, handsets, connection charges, software
licences and IT equipment such as laptops.

The spokesperson added the scheme is open to
all industry types and has flexible underwriting, aimed at
delivering higher acceptance levels for new-start companies.
