LeasePlan unveils product to LCV
off-road time

LeasePlan UK has introduced a telematics
product to increase efficiency of its light commercial fleet as the
global fleet lessors seeks to boost its CV offering.
The UPtime feature transmits performance
updates on maintenance and repair requirements directly from the
vehicle to LeasePlan’s LCV team every 24 hours.
The product is designed to reduce help fleet
managers reduce off-road time for their fleets and, following a
three month trial, LeasePlan believes its system can generate more
than 60% cost savings as a result.
Mark Lovett, head of commercial vehicles at
LeasePlan, said: “We’ve listened to fleet managers who tell us
vehicle downtime is the biggest challenge faced by LCV
fleets.

address this issue while driving down costs and reducing the
administrative load associated with this type of vehicle. Our goal
is to significantly reduce downtime for fleets.

commitment to growing LeasePlan’s specialist expertise in the LCV
sector,” he said.
Arval in bullet-proof fleet
deal
Arval has been appointed sole supplier of
fleet services in the UK to global research and manufacturing firm
DuPont.
For the life of the three-year deal, Arval,
the fleet subsidiary of BNP Paribas, will provide contract hire,
maintenance, accident management, daily rental and mini-lease as
well as the full range of driver services.
In the UK DuPont, which manufactures
specialist materials such as Teflon and Kevlar, runs a fleet of
around 250 vehicles, predominantly made up of cars with a small
number of LCV’s.

Hyundai lands 500-strong fleet
deal
Hyundai Motor UK has secured a 500-vehicle
fleet deal with UK maintenance firm Enterprise.
The Korean manufacturer’s UK subsidiary was
appointed preferred supplier following an evaluation process after
Enterprise, which provides infrastructure maintenance to the public
sector and utility industry, sought to optimise its fleet
efficiency.
Hyundai will provide the new fleet, made up of
a mixture of the fuel-efficient Hyundai i40 and New Generation i30
models, on a contract hire basis.

Hyundai Motor UK, said: “At Hyundai, we are continually growing and
improving our entire fleet offering from the products that we sell
to the support services we offer to customers.
Philip Preston, commercial director operations
at Enterprise PLC, said: “We conducted an in-depth investigation
into whole life costs of our fleet, looking at vehicle emissions,
BiK tax benefits and vehicle performance. Hyundai came out on top
and offered the best overall package for us and our fleet
operation.”
