Clayton said: "I’m thrilled to be taking up the reins in what is an important market for Lombard. We have been operating in this sector for over two decades and have a wealth of knowledge and experience of the offshore market."
He added: "The Channel Islands has proved very resilient in recent years, despite the economic climate elsewhere in the UK, while The Isle of Man offers the opportunity to support its growing aviation and super-yacht registrar, and Gibraltar has scope for Lombard to support its shipping and financial sector."
Clayton will report to Gary Leitch, managing director of Lombard’s Corporate Asset Finance, who said the appointment demonstrates Lombard’s continued commitment to the offshore sector and added the Royal Bank of Scotland division is eager to lend more to support growth.
