European leasing trade body Leaseurope has appointed its new twelve member board of directors.

The board will be headed by new chairman Massimiliano Moi, head of UniCredit Leasing, with vice-chairs Ronald Slaats and Vahid Daemi, respectively chief executives of De Lage Landen Leasing and LeasePlan Corporation.

Outgoing chairman Jukka Salonen, chief executive of Nordea Finance, will retain his seat on the board.

The other nine directors are: George Ashworth, managing director of asset finance, Aldermore; Didier Chappet, chief executive, BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions; Michel Denis, chief executive, Fraikin Locatime; Ronald Keppler, chief executive, Europcar Groupe; Thomas Perez Ruiz, general adviser, LICO Corporation; Alexander Schmidecker, chief executive, Raiffeisen Leasing; Martin Stark, chairman of the management board, LBBW Leasing; and Jirina Tapsikova, chief executive, SkoFIN.

Moi said of his appointment: "I am delighted to take over as chair and thank Jukka Salonen for his commitment and efforts in promoting the leasing and automotive rental industries relentlessly during his chairmanship and in contributing to a strong pan-European Federation which is recognised now more than ever as the competent and knowledgeable voice of the industry."

He continued: "It is my ambition to continue to promote these industries and highlight their contribution to the real economy in Europe, especially in light of the many regulatory challenges our industries are faced with."
