BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions has formed a partnership with the French branch of top international children’s charity World Vision (Vision du Monde), which will see the company help finance and sponsor an education project in Senegal.
Centred on the village of Diokoul, the project, in conjunction with the lessor’s partners, will build a nursery and improve the quality of a local school by equipping eight primary classes and constructing water points.

The French bank’s leasing arm also aims to raise awareness of the benefits of universal education by supporting the education of disabled children and bolstering local awareness and access to education for girls.
BNP Paribas’s contribution to the project, which will be run through its office equipment, telecoms and IT leasing teams, will be supplemented by voluntary payments made by its manufacturer partners. The quantity of these contributions will be calculated on the basis of tranches of lease transactions, as well as donations to Vision du Monde by employees of both the leasing company and its vendor partners.
A spokesperson for BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions said the company wanted to take its relationships with partners "over and above that of mere business collaboration" and so chose "to offer long term support to a humanitarian project that would lead to real results."
BNP Paribas dubbed the project the beginning of "fair leasing".
