Two businesses in the UK leasing sector have been recognised for their employees’ knowledge and understanding of the industry, with each firm praised for commitment to staff.
UK asset finance broker First Independent Finance and the UK arm of fleet lessor LeasePlan have both been awarded Gold status from the independent benchmarking body Investors In People.

Investors In People is a publicly administered not-for-profit organisation with the stated aim of "transforming business performance through people". Participating companies are reviewed by the organisation against various standards including business performance, personnel development and people management strategy.
First Independent Finance, which also won the Broker of the Year award at the Leasing Life European awards in November, was recognised as "a truly cutting-edge organisation" operating "at the highest levels of people management".
Allan Ross, managing director of First Independent Finance, said: "Being audited and acknowledged by a truly independent, highly respected organisation for looking after our people, helping them build careers and encouraging them to build a world class business makes getting up in the morning genuinely worthwhile."
Meanwhile, LeasePlan UK also retained its Gold Investors in People status, after a month in which it picked up several other awards recognising customer service, product and employment practice.
