Strickland also edits the LSE Gender Institute’s blog Engenderings which explores gender in culture, politics, business and society through different academic disciplines.

Strickland said: "Based on my research in equality and diversity and my work with the LSE’s Gender Institute, I am looking forward to offering insights to the Leasing Foundation’s Women in Leasing project and working with Mary McNamara and the other women Governors and Fellows to take the project forward."

In January this year the Leasing Foundation appointed a marketing and communications intern to help promote its diversity programme.

Peter Thomas, one of the Foundation’s directors, said the issue of gender diversity was an important topic deserving of "vigorous debate and concerted action" across the industry and added the organisation hoped its Women in Leasing project would address several gender-related issues by conducting research to support practical interventions across the industry.
