Mary McNamara is to step down as chief executive of Close Brothers Commercial Finance on 31 July after three years in the post.

McNamara joined the commercial lending division of Close Brothers Group in April 2010 and previously held senior positions with GE Capital including as chief executive of its UK equipment finance arm.

A spokesperson for Close Brothers said: "We can confirm that Mary McNamara is leaving Close Brothers on 31 July.

"Mary has made a significant contribution over the last 3 years and we wish her well for the future."

McNamara was recently appointed chair of the board governors at the not-for-profit Leasing Foundation and is also the body’s spokesperson for its Women in Leasing programme.

At this stage, Close Brothers could not confirm who would replace McNamara as chief executive.
