UK lessor Shawbrook Asset Finance has appointed Andy James as head of its healthcare division.

James was previously a senior director within the division and takes over as managing director of the business line from Susan Hinton-Smith who stepped down at the end of last year.
James joined Singers Premium Finance, which was acquired by Shawbrook in March 2012, 13 years ago after roles at Caterpillar Financial Services, Forward Trust and NatWest before joining the company’s Healthcare division in 2004.
Richard Pyman, managing director of Shawbrook Asset Finance, said: "We were very fortunate to have had Susan Hinton-Smith at the helm of our Healthcare division over the last few years, with Andy James working closely with her to develop the business to the success it is today.
Following Susan’s departure, Andy is the ideal candidate to head up our Healthcare division and I am very pleased to be working with him and his team to take the business forward throughout 2014 and beyond."
