Nordea has appointed 44-year-old Peter Hupfeld as new head of Nordea Finance, effective as of 1 September.
Hupfeld was previously director for the commercial lines at global insurance group RSA Scandinavia (Royal Sun Alliance), with responsibility for the Danish part of the corporate insurance business covering both the SME market and global clients.

The position of chief executive officer for Nordea Finance became vacant when Jukka Salonen was appointed head of group simplification in August 2014. Sjur Loen, head of Nordea Finance Norway, has been acting head in the interim period, said Nordea.
Country senior executive in Denmark Mads Jakobsen said: "Peter Hupfeld holds very strong strategic and operational skills. He has strong leadership capabilities and solid experience, especially from the Nordic market, combined with a strong personal drive. I really look forward to having Peter as part of our team," says Mads Jakobsen.
Hupfeld holds a master’s degree in engineering and an executive MBA, said a statement from Nordea, and has held a number of significant cross-Nordic leadership positions within RSA during the past 10 years. Prior to RSA, Peter worked within management consultancy, with corporate strategy and process optimisation.
