The Leasing Foundation, a non-profit organisation that supports the UK leasing and asset finance industry, has begun searching for a new chairperson following the announcement that Derek Soper, of IAA-Advisory, has stepped down from the role.
Derek Soper, who was one of the founder members of the foundation, was the chairperson of the board from August 2013. He will remain at the Leasing Foundation as a governor.

Andrew Denton, chief executive officer of the Foundation and current interim chairperson, said: "We would like to thank Derek for his outstanding contribution to the Leasing Foundation. Although he is stepping down from his role as chairman, Derek will stay involved with the Foundation as one of our governors, and as a source of advice on the industry that he has been a part of for decades".
The foundation’s selection committee is now actively seeking candidates to become the next chairperson. The role is to ensure the effective performance of the board of directors, to oversee governance issues and to advise the board on the foundation’s external relationships.
