The total value of finance provided by the Polish leasing sector increased by 15.7% in Q3 2015 compared to the same period last year, reaching PLN 35.9bn (€8.48bn), according to Zwiazek Polskiego Leasingu (ZPL).

Vehicle leasing was the strongest segment of the market, with new leasing volumes increasing by 17.4% year-on-year to PLN 13.16bn in the third quarter of 2015.

Equipment leasing volumes increased by 13.7% over the same period, reaching PLN 11.89bn. In addition, heavy transport (airplanes, trucks and trains) new leasing volumes increased by 12.8% year-on-year to PLN 9.51bn.

ZPL surveyed a number of companies that it associates with on their expectations for the next quarter. 66% of respondents anticipated leasing volumes in equipment to grow in Q4 2015, of which 8% expected ‘significant growth’. Only 8% of the people surveyed expected a drop in volumes.

58% of respondents said that leasing volumes of light vehicles and heavy transport will grow over the last quarter of the year, with none of the respondents anticipating a fall.
