International fleet management company LeasePlan announced that the number of vehicles in its fleet has exceeded the 1.5m mark.

"LeasePlan is the first fleet management and driver mobility company in the global leasing industry to reach operations of this scale, a landmark confirming its global market leadership," the company wrote.

LeasePlan, which operates in 32 countries, has seen an 8% year-on-year increase in the number of vehicles under its management, up from 1.4m at the end of September 2014.

SMEs have become LeasePlan’s fastest-growing client segment, reaching double digit growth, up 11% year-on-year, fuelling the expansion of the company’s global fleet. Large international clients remained an important segment for the company, served by LeasePlan International. This business witnessed an 8% growth year on year.
