The total value of new leasing volumes provided by the Polish leasing sector increased by 16.3% 2015 compared to the previous year, reaching PLN 49.8bn (€11.2bn), according to Zwiazek Polskiego Leasingu (ZPL).

Vehicle leasing was the strongest segment of the market, with new leasing volumes increasing by 20% year-on-year to PLN 18.7bn in 2015.

Equipment leasing volumes increased by 12% over the same period to PLN 15.9bn. In addition, heavy transport (airplanes, trucks and trains) new leasing volumes increased by 18% year-on-year to PLN 13.5bn.

ZPL surveyed a number of sales executives in companies that it associates with, on their expectations for the first quarter of 2016. 66% of respondents anticipated leasing volumes in machines and other equipment, including IT, to grow in Q4 2015, of which 8% expected ‘significant growth’.

50% anticipated growth in the finance market for heavy transport, while 42% expect the passenger and commercial vehicle market to grow.
