Société Générale Equipment Finance (SGEF) is to appoint Jochen Jehmlich as its chief executive officer from the 1st July, Leasing Life understands.

Jehmlich is currently country head for Germany, and deputy chief executive officer of SGEF.

He will become the third successive chief executive of the French bank’s leasing business, succeeding Marie-Christine Ducholet who was appointed in 2011 after the lessor’s first chief executive, Jean-Marc Mignerey, retired. The post itself was created in 2001.

Jochen Jehmlich began his career at Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt, where he specialized in corporate banking.

In 1990, he joined GEFA Group and held various senior positions in sales.

In 2000 he was appointed managing director and in 2001 he joined Société Générale when it acquired GEFA Group. He has been chief executive officer of SGEF’s German business since 2003. On 1 November 2014 he was appointed deputy chief executive officer of Société Générale Equipment Finance.

Societe Generale Equipment Finance (SGEF) appointed Marie-Christine Ducholet as chief executive officer in 2011.

Ducholet, a member of Societe Generale’s Specialised Financial Services and Insurance Management Committee, held several roles within the group’s structured finance unit since she joined the bank in 1985.

Her most recent role was co-head of strategic and acquisition finance worldwide, a position she took in 2008.
