ASSET ADVANTAGE

Matthew Goddard has joined Asset Advantage,
which provides asset finance solutions to local authorities, as
corporate sales manager. Previously he was director of the
Equipment Finance Division of Landsbanki Commercial Finance.

THE ALTA GROUP

The Alta Group has appointed Alun Richards as a
principal in its Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Richards is
an experienced senior asset-finance practitioner with special
expertise in the management and delivery of pan-European and global
vendor and direct equipment finance programmes. Prior to joining
The Alta Group he was managing director of Key Equipment Finance’s
European region, where he was instrumental in tripling business
over a four-year period.

FINANCE & LEASING ASSOCIATION

Julian Rose has joined the Finance &
Leasing Association (FLA) as head of asset finance and data policy.
This is a new post, which aims to strengthen the FLA’s core staff
resources devoted to asset finance and leasing. Rose is an
accountant by training and most recently worked at the Financial
Reporting Council. His previous experience includes work for the
Competition Commission and consultancy with KPMG and PWC. He will
report directly to the director general and will work closely with
Craig Pickering, the FLA’s principal consultant on business
finance.

Fiona Hoyle has been appointed as head of
consumer finance and fraud at the FLA. She was previously the
senior lawyer at the Council of Mortgage Lenders and has also
worked for the Building Societies Association and the Council of
Property Search Organisations, which she led.

HANDELSBANKEN

Handelsbanken, which operates predominantly in the Nordic and UK
markets, has appointed Michael Zell as its new
country manager for China. The company has been represented in
China since 1982 with offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
Zell was previously chief executive of Handelsbanken Liv.

DE LAGE LANDEN INTERNATIONAL B.V. 


Bill StephensonWilliam (Bill) Stephenson
has been appointed
global chief commercial officer for De Lage Landen International
B.V. and will join the board of De Lage Landen Financial Services.
He succeeds Philip Schneck who will retire from
the company.

Stephenson will be responsible for the overall operations of De
Lage Landen International’s global vendor finance activities. He
will also oversee the company’s commercial finance, public finance,
and marketing and global structured finance organisations. Most
recently, he was president of De Lage Landen’s office equipment
global business unit. Marc Dierckx, who has been
with the company since 2004, will succeed Stephenson in this
role.

David Lindsay has joined the company’s
Commercial Finance group as European operations manager. He comes
from CIT where he latterly held the position of European Default
& Recovery manager. Prior to CIT he was with TransAmerica
Distribution Finance and Borg Warner Acceptance, an agricultural
equipment company.

Damian Broadbent has been appointed chief
commercial officer for De Lage Landen Asia Region. Previously
business unit director and general manager of the company’s
Materials Handling & Construction Business Unit in Europe,
Broadbent will be the linking  pin between the Asia region and
the global business units, and assume responsibility for
coordinating and managing all commercial activity.

Rob Ceribelli has been promoted to country
service unit manager UK by the company. Previously he was vice
president sales and operations for De Lage Landen’s Global Business
Unit Technology Finance.

HITACHI CREDIT UK

Martin Cutbill has resigned as chief executive
– Finance & Insurance Services at Hitachi Capital UK. He
originally joined the company in 2003 in the interim role of
divisional managing director of Hitachi Capital Consumer finance
before moving on to group business development director and
latterly his final role. Robert Munn, divisional
managing director Hitachi Capital Business Finance and
Steve Lawler, managing director Insurance
Services, will now report directly to David
Anthony
, group chief executive officer.

In a separate move, Mr Shirai will be appointed
to the board of Hitachi Capital UK as cochief executive officer. He
is presently managing director of Hitachi Capital Singapore.


John NelsonGE COMMERCIAL FINANCE
 

GE Commercial Finance’s business division has appointed
John Nelson as director of business development
for the South of the UK. He will report to Darren
Millard
, commercial director at Business Finance.
Previously, Nelson was with Lloyds TSB Group for 21 years 
where he held a number of executive positions. Most recently he ran
the company’s business development team in the south.

MJM RESOURCING LTD

Mel Missen has joined MJM Resourcing Ltd to
work with the company’s existing European team, as well as to
provide a complete Asia/South Pacific resourcing capability.
Previously, Missen spent some 10 years as an international human
resources director with CIT, playing a senior role in building and
growing the company’s vendor leasing businesses in Europe, Asia and
South Pacific.


Tim MorrisDAVENHAM GROUP
 

Tim Morris, who has spent the last 15 years in
senior management roles at global credit referencing company
Experian, has joined Davenham Group as director of its
multidisciplined asset division. His role will consist of assisting
small- to medium-sized companies to purchase or refinance assets
ranging from small-ticket items through to plant and machinery.

HYPERCOM CORPORATION

Hypercom, a developer of electronic payment products, has
appointed David Millener to the newly created
position of managing director, Hypercom UK and Ireland. Millener,
whose background is in the equipment finance industry, joins from
First Data Global Leasing, where he served as vice president of
European Leasing. Prior to that he spent eight years in leadership
roles at GE Capital European Equipment Finance.
