Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions has helped train and bus operator Arriva reduce carbon emissions and savings after being selected as its sole company car lease supplier.
The transport specialist chose to work with the Hitachi Capital’s vehicle solutions arm six months ago, with the lessor looking after all of Arriva’s fleet requirements, comprising more than 400 vehicles.
The lessor said that Arriva has achieved a 30g/km carbon reduction across new company car models for middle managers, and monthly rental savings of 8 percent since consolidating its car fleet requirements. This was made through a number of changes including extending contracts from 36 to 48 months and negotiated a single supplier deal with Vauxhall, the Hitachi-owned lessor said.
Richard Yoxall, fleet manager at Arriva, said: “We have always had a strong relationship with Hitachi Capital, but recently decided to review our fleet suppliers. The team at Hitachi Capital have impressed us with their expertise and understanding of our business. Together we set targets to reduce fleet spend and carbon emissions, and are already seeing some very positive results.”
A profile on Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions’ CV arm will appear in the next issue of Leasing Life.
