Franklin brings experience in the motor finance sector, having served as chief commercial officer for Santander Consumer Finance Nordics.
His role encompassed operations across four countries, marking it as one of the company’s largest international divisions.
Before his tenure in the Nordics, Franklin was the commercial director of Hyundai Capital UK, a joint venture of Hyundai Motor UK, Kia UK, and Genesis UK with Santander Consumer Finance.
His career began with the Ford Credit graduate programme in 2005, and he joined Santander in 2010, where he held senior management roles and fostered long-term relationships with car retailers and OEM brand partners.
Franklin said: “I am delighted to return to the UK to lead Santander Consumer Finance at an exciting time in its development with a book of over half a million live customer agreements and a growing portfolio of OEM partnerships.”

In a separate development, Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (Santander CIB) and Pemberton Asset Management announced a partnership in December to launch Invensa.
This new company aims to provide supply chain inventory solutions, assisting large and mid-sized corporates in building resilient supply chains.
The launch targets a “$1tn and growing” industry.
Santander CIB highlighted that supply chain disruptions have intensified in recent years due to factors such as the pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, and shifting macroeconomic conditions.
In response, businesses are focusing on strengthening supply chain resilience to maintain a consistent flow of essential goods and raw materials.
