What was your first ever job?

I was an unqualified worker at 20 years old.

Where’s the best place to go if you want to find out what’s really going on in the office?

Unfortunately – and I’m not the only person to think this – the kitchen and smoking areas are best for gossip.

What time do you usually leave the office?

Depending on the time of year, any time between 6pm and 1am.

What’s your favourite restaurant?

My favourite restaurant in Bucharest, Romania is Baltazar, where they specialise in fusion cuisine.

What do you do at weekends?

I like to garden, read, listen to music and travel.

If you weren’t in your current job, what would you have been?

As a child, I wanted to be an archaeologist, then a doctor; but it would be more likely that I would be an organiser.

Who is your mentor or role model?

I do not have one specific role model, but I try not to be what I’ve disliked in others.

What’s the best thing about your job?

The best thing is that it requires a lot of creativity, and there is no real routine.

What’s the toughest thing about your job?

Being certain that you’ve taken the right decision at the right time.

What’s your biggest work/career mistake?

To give someone more than a second chance.

What car do you drive?

I drive a Chevrolet Captiva.

What book are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading two books, one about the Prophet Mohamed, and another, by Elena Bibescu, about a Romanian princess who lived in Paris and was a mentor of George Enescu, the most important and notorious Romanian composer.

What’s on your CD player at the moment?

A classical music CD with a selection of pieces from the George Enescu festival.
